Inheriting without realising

Ok, today's post is basically inspired by the little conversations I had with my mom during the holidays.
I'm in the Red Crescent Society and always was. If there was no Red Crescent Society I would be in St. John's Ambulance. I never actually thought why I am inclined to join in this type of society. My intention was always that I could learn about treating minor injuries and be of help to others. I'm not saying I'm already good in first aid. I still have soooo many things to learn. In fact, it scares me thinking about the emergency situations and I already had the intentions to learn more bits and pieces from my doc honey.
That's another story. I brought my Red Crescent uniform home and my mom saw it. She went on how it used to be the Red Cross Society. I never actually discussed about it with her so I asked if she was actually in the Red Cross Society before. To my surprise she actually did join it when she was in school. During those time, besides learning to treat minor wounds, they also learned sewing. It brought me to my imagination of the British era cos mom went to English school when she was young. It also made me realised why I am inclined to join in this type of society rather than Girl Guide, Scouts or any other societies. I inherited it from mom. Hehe. The things that we take for granted can be an "Aha" moment sometimes. :)
